Colorado Springs Bacchus

Membership Guidelines & Bacchus Charter

  1. BulletBacchus is open to all gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or questioning persons only.

  2. BulletWine tastings are generally held on the second Friday of the month. There may be times it will be different because the host for the month has requested a different Friday.

  3. BulletNotifications of wine tastings is done through email. On the first Monday of the month, an email will be sent to all Bacchus members letting them know about the date of the wine tasting. If you would like to attend, you will need to reply to the email to make your reservation for yourself, and your partner or guests if applicable.

  4. BulletAll members must reserve a spot each month. This is important since we base the number of bottles per tasting according to the number of members who have made reservations. If you plan to attend, please reply to the email as soon as possible to get on the list, since space is limited at each wine tasting.

  5. BulletThe cost for the wine tasting is $18 per person (unless otherwise stated in the email).  As an added convenience, if you choose to pay an even $20 then Bacchus will use your additional $2 and make donations to local non-profits during the year.

  6. BulletMembers must bring their own wine glass to the tasting.

  7. BulletMembers may reserve a spot for a guest. Members must provide their guest's first and last name when replying to the notification email.

  8. BulletAny member who has a reservation for a wine tasting but fails to attend, or cancels with less than 48 hours notice will be billed. If you have made a reservation, yet cannot attend the wine tasting, then send an email to the bacchus administrator to cancel your reservation. You will not be billed for cancellations made less than 48 hours before the wine tasting if a person on the waiting list is able to attend in your place. This also holds true for a member whose guest fails to attend without the above cancellation time and criteria.

  9. BulletMembers who do not pay for a prior wine tasting will not be eligible to attend a future one. You will be removed from the email distribution list.

  10. BulletFood at the wine tasting is meant for refreshment and cleansing the palate. Is it not meant to be supper.

  1. BulletMembers and guests that come to the wine tasting must sign in and pay upon their arrival. All guest's have the option of leaving their address and phone number, and email address on the sign-in sheet to be added to the email list. The sign-in sheet is used for acknowledging who attended, updates, and a raffle door prize.

  2. BulletAny member(s) that host a wine tasting will not have to pay the wine tasting fee. Food will be provided by the host and will be compensated by Bacchus.

  3. BulletMembers who have not accepted a wine tasting invitation after 6 months will potentially be dropped from the email distribution list. However, members may renew their membership by sending a message to the Bacchus administrator.
